The Story...
Who I am
I am an eight grade student at Providence Middle School with a passion to put an end to human trafficking and exploitation in children - an international crime that we don't realize is easy to prevent. Children are taken every day from their environment that they are safe and familiar in, to a dangerous and fearful one. A lot of the crime can be happening a few miles away from home. This being, day cares, schools, malls/stores, and even the Internet, are all endangered by this tragic crime. I want to help put an end to it and would like to ask you to join me and the organization Love 146 to do so. In addition to hosting a raise to bring awareness to the community, I'm hosting a donation for the children who are at risk or are victims. The items can be found on the wish list if you aren't sure what to donate. The chosen items will help these children, should they find themselves in harms way.

At first, I had no clue what human trafficking was but in 6th grade, I received an assignment to pick an organization and their leader and to make art in honor of them. After picking the YWCA , I wanted to know what trafficking was. After some research I basically got a snapshot of what it was exactly. Knowing that in two years, I would need to complete a Capstone project as a requirement of the leadership academy, I became curious as to who it happened to and why. Since then , I've become passionate about helping the victims of this crime. Many victims simply need to pay a service off , need a job, were promised a job, or many , like children, are simply taken. Richmond connects many of the major highway and interstates where the trading happens frequently. Because of my strong love for children and all their well deserved innocence, I simply can't ignore the issue at hand - especially when it's knocking on our back doors.
